Walk on Water Competition @ Singapore International Water Festival
You can see our champion, Siang Yong from 2E3 winning by a single step!! It was that exciting! =D
Remember the last time we blogged about our training at Singapore Polytechnic's pool for this competition? Yup, the competition is over, and we are proud to announce that Chow Siang Yong from 2E3 is the champion of the Walk on Water competition, 2010!
If you have been at the actual site of the competition, you would have known that the competition was really very tight. The participants waited for Mr. Teo Ser Luck to arrive before they were flagged off, and in the beginning, none of our school students were in front. However, Siang Yong was very steady and he made his advance slowly but steadily. Gradually, we could see that there were 2 students who are far ahead of the rest of the students, and in fact were alternating between 1st and 2nd position. Siang Yong did not rush but continued to apply what he learned during his training to eventually step over the finishing line before his competitor did!
We are proud of this team, comprising Siang Yong, Stanley Sia and Clinson Wang, all from 2E3, who were led by Mr. Roland Tan, Mr. Gaius Lee and Mr. Chui Kiam Ming. It was really an invaluable opportunity for the kids to learn about buoyancy and stability in a unique and exciting manner!
